Goals
Goals of Disability History Week initiative include:
- To establish a Disability History Week in New York State and other states
- To establish a National Disability History Week
- Establish a website to be used as a resource across the nation
- Develop lesson plans to be offered through the Museum of disABILITY History, so that schools will have additional resources to use during Disability History Week.
- Expand the Museum of disABILITY History's offerings, including timelines, photographs and artifacts.
- To provide a unified message to school students across the country about another aspect of our nation's history, and to create a forum for meaningful discussion
